Errr...well why dont you fix the rpm db instead? Sounds to me like using
--nodeps caused the problem to begin with, if I read yer bugreport
correctly. When is --nodeps every really a good solution that doesn't
lead to some sort of problem? I avoid using --nodeps and --force, as a
matter of principle, and I haven't actually seen this segfault problem.

Maybe you can recover by the db_verify/db_dump/db_load procedure
