No that was NOT what I meant. Installing beta code _on top of GA_ code,
IMVHO,
only serves to "muddy the waters". Installing GA code _on top of beta,
OTH, would
help the developers find any incompatibilities with the newer (beta) and
stable code.

At the moment, I've reverted to Psyche (RH 8.0). I'm about to do a
_fresh_ download
and install of Phoebe3 /RH 8.0.94. However, and FWIW, whilst running
Phoebe3,
I did not experience the problems that you describe. Sorry I can't be of
further help...
