repeating audio

I am putting a sound board in my HP LH II dual processor computer and have run up against a problem. When I try to play a .mpg file a 2 or 3 second section of sound repeats indefinitly. I have seen somewhere a string of messages that the dma transfer did not complete properly. This is a Telewave Q32 board that requires an interrupt for the sound and the mpu. Can these interrupts be the same? (they are both set to 5 now). I cannot seem to use isapnp to change them to be different because the board keeps getting recogniized during the boot process and the modules installed which causes isapnp to give a warning that the ioaddr resource is not available. My mpu interrupt change never sticks. Can I temporarily cut off the boot autodetect to see if that is what is killing the interrupt number change? Any ideas would be appreciated - I have not been able to listen to my music in days. Thanks. BB
