I saw the exact same message (even 4294967295) when I first tried to install the SMP kernel. I tried downloading it twice, then again from a different URL. Checksums were the same. Finall I added the -vv and -h options and it installed just fine. I have no explanation and have not seen the error again. Hope it works for you... rpm -ivvh kernel-smp-2.4.18-24.7.x.i686.rpm [email protected] wrote: > Has anyone seen the following before? > rpmdb: Suspiciously high nelem of 4294967295 on page 0 > error: db4 error(-30979) from db->verify: DB_VERIFY_BAD: Database > verification failed > > > It acted like it completed the downloads, but never installed the filesets > that were downloaded. > This is Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf), > > Linux version 2.4.18-24.7.x ([email protected]) (gcc > version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-112)) #1 Fri Jan 31 06:10:29 EST 2003 > > Any help would be appreciated.
