The problem only showed up after the latest update from fedoralegacy.
As I noted above, I'm still quite new to linux.  I don't how to look where  
for evidence of problems except for some very basic stuff.

I've noted that my my system seems to run MUCH slower after the udate.

I'm also getting a pop-up error message that says
     Couldn't find "preferences://MorePreferences".
     Please check the spelling and try again.

when I start the X window system.
