do i newed a DNS setup on my machine behind a router

I am a little  confused  about  something=2C mainly  setting/building a DNS=
 server.
i have followed a few examples from  a number of books    1 named redhat 9 =
for dummies
what i need to  know.  IS  If i  use a  free DNS srtvice to point to my cab=
le modem IP
and i have a  netgear RP-614 router   do i need to build/create the  Domain=
 name service server?
i am confused on where to put the   NS1 through NS4.afraid.org   server inf=
o for it to work
can any help me with this   issue????
