The above is not legal syntax. Never was. If it used to work, you were lucky.

The syntax is:

        <start of range>-<end-of-range>/<step value>

Either of the following would achieve your goal of 10 & 40:

        10,40    6-19 * * 1-5  sync.sh
        10-59/30 6-19 * * 1-5  sync.sh
