Hi,

I have a question regarding dual-core support and taroon.

My understanding is that dual core support was back ported to taroon, as
from RHEL 3 Update 5.

So I have installed a test box, which is a Dell Poweredge 1950, with 1
dual core Intel Xeon 5160.

Looking at /proc/cpuinfo, I can see that it recognises the core.

My understanding is that without a SMP kernel however, that the second
core was not being fully utilized. Is this correct ?

On a default install. The OS installed a standard ( non SMP ) kernel. Is
this ok, or do I need to install a SMP version of the kernel for best
performance from this box ?

Thanks for any help.

-Bob
