Milters

I am trying to get milters working on my RHEL3 system.
I've been doing reading, but it's not real clear by admission of the
milter.org people.

It looks to me like I would need to rebuild sendmail with milters enabled.

Does anyone have a good website that has instructions on this for
RHEL3? I'm somewhat confused right off the bat.
