is this an automount bug?

Hello,
We have two machines running a high availability cluster on RHEL3. I have
seen this issue happen on both machines.

# uname -r
2.4.21-57.ELhugemem
# cat /etc/issue
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 9)

When a user is logs into the machine hosting the cluster IP, they get their
home directory automounted from our mail server. On several occasions we
have seen users attempt to copy files from the local file system to their
home directory causing an immediate reboot with nothing being logged. We are
finding the file in the home directory but it is always 0 bytes. It seems
that the home directories are being forcefully remounted and causing some
sort of panic.
Logs typically show the user login and then "syslogd 1.4.1: restart."

I cannot reliably reproduce the issue but the symptoms are consistant.

If this rings a bell for anyone I would be interested.
