basicallly , if you adding your jobs in the crontab file , there is a line
where it says send mail to: root , change to your username and see if you
will get reports .

As far as I know, /var/log/cron only mentions when the cron ran. If the cron
job failed, the user almost always gets an email. I've tried unsuccessfully
to suppress these emails. However, I'm not sure how to find out if a cron
job
succeeded.
