Problem With RedHat 7.3 working in a Netfinity 4500R

I have running RedHat 7.3 with kernel version 2.4.20-18.7smp, on a IBM
Netfinity 4500R with two processors and  640MB of RAM. This is my email
server running sendmail 8.12.10 but after a couple of days the server get
crashed. But this is a weird crashed, because If I check the ports with nmap
all the ports are running, the server response ping attempts, but If you
want to access the server you can only type the login but the password
prompt didn't appear. I notice that the lights to access the Hard Disks
didn´t blink anymore I don´t know is this is true but I think the hard disks
got blocked and the server didn´t work anymore. I checked all the errors
logs and I didn´t find anything to help me.
 
Please can someone help me with this issue.
