Thanks. I may try a 2.4 kernel yet. It looks like my initial problems were due to a bad download (so much for the GPG-based verification in rpm 4??), but after correct that, I had other strange issues with the megaraid.c SCSI driver. Odd. The reason I said I didn't want to go to 2.4 is I have a proprietary, mission-critical, application that is officially certified only on kernels 2.2.x, and I can't get support if I upgrade, supposedly. I find that argument to be pretty silly, as the program is basically a Perl web app with Apache and MySQL -- there's nothing kernel-dependent about it. But I try to follow the rules...otherwise I'd be at RHL 7.3 anyway. --Jeremy On Fri, 2002-11-08 at 17:10, Roland Verlander wrote: > I also had some problems with compiling 2.2.22 on my RH6.2, but compiling a > 2.4 kernel seemed to work fine but you said you can't do that. > Try getting the vanilla 2.2.22 kernel from www.kernel.org as Red Hat has a > few hundred patches in thier kernels that might be causing your problem.
