Hello all,

This is Johnathan with GLS. As part of our revision of the "RH320 Red
Hat Apache and Secure Web Server Administration" class we're adding a
section on Jakarta Tomcat configuration, administration, and Apache
integration. For the most part it's a very high level view of the
topic, just the basics an admin would need to know rather than content
aimed at a Java developer; going into any real depth could overwhelm the
class.

The basic flow of the material is: Intro to Tomcat, Installing the Java
SDK, Installing Tomcat, Developing Applications, Servlets, JSP,
Deploying WARs, Tomcat Web Interfaces, mod_jk2, and then wrapping up
with a couple slides describing advanced topics like J2EE, Enterprise
Java Beans, JOnAS, JBOSS, and Red Hat Application Server.

In the next few days I should have a draft of the course material
together and I'm looking for a volunteer or two to fact check me and
make any suggestions for improvement. If you're interested, please
email me off list.

Thanks,

- Johnathan Kupferer <[email protected]>
