Anyone try an RHEL4 VM? Nautilus issues on upgrade from v3 to v4?

Has anyone tried to build a VMWare VM running RHEL 4? I upgraded a VM that was running RHEL3 U4 and to RHEL4. I had to rebuild the tools, and it gave me some MINOR guff but appeared to build (and start) OK. However, I have not figured out the "secret sauce" of how VMWare edits the x config bits, and it's decidedly unhappy (seems that the server is OK but it's puking on the mouse device & a security file ??) Thus far I have bashed my way through some of this by: ls -s /dev/input/mice /dev/mouse =20 and mkdir -p /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver ln -s /etc/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy ...so now at least X starts, but Nautilus immediately crashes with: ** ERROR **: file nautilus-directory.c: line 553 (add_to_hash_table): assertion failed: (g_hash_table_lookup (directory->details->file_hash, file->details->relative_uri) =3D=3D NULL) aborting I have not even started to look into VMWare support, etc - just figgered I'd fire off a quick email to see if anyone here has already been through this... HOWEVER - for grins I just fired off a quick VNC session (blackbox as WM) and Nautilus just won't run - so I am guessing that VMWare has nothing to do with it... other apps (konqueror, etc) run just fine in both VNC session and "VMWare Remote Console" session into VM Don -- Taroon-beta-list mailing list [email protected] http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/taroon-beta-list
