Paul and the other newbies to DocBook, May I recommend two excellent resources: 1) http://docbook.org/tdg/en/html/docbook.html <-- More of a reference than a tutorial 2) http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/index.html <-- Combination tutorial and reference book They describe how to setup the tools [2] and what is valid docbook [1]. I believe xmlto is the recommended tool for Fedora and it isn't directly described in the above. But xmlto (IIRC) is just a wrapper around some of these tools. Docbook and the toolchain is a long hill (but not too steep :-) ) to climb. But the view from the top is worth it.
