Xmms and MP3's

I have xmms-1.2.8-1.p.i386.rpm installed and of course, by default it will not play mp3's. I can only find xmms-mp3-1.2.7-13.p.i386.rpm which will not install with with 1.2.8. If I try to install xmms-1.2.7 I can't.
