I was not attempting to enforce my policies. They aren't mine, they are
the companies. I am all for technicians learning as much as they can,
but when a general user starts bringing in PCs with who knows what
installed, this leads to anarchy. I am only speaking as the
administrator in a company environment and raising the caveat that he
needs to check company policy because it could be grounds for dismissal.
I have nothing against Rodolfo or his suggestions, just want to be sure
that the original poster is aware that some companies frown on it. I
would hate to see someone get fired for reading advice from here without
the proper caveats.
