Hi. I used to swear by ntsysv.

RH/FC come with two tools to do that for you:

o "chkconfig" is a command line tool to add/remove/change boot options 
(this requires that your init scripts have appropriate lines for chkconfig 
to understand).

o "setup" has a section for system services, which allows you to specify 
which ones start or not at boot time, much like ntsysv did "back in the 
day".
