Samer, The document you referenced is old. Check the current documentation: https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-5-manual/Installation_Guide-en-US/s1-diskpartitioning-x86.html#s2-diskpartrecommend-x86 The formula give there would indicate 34GB of swap, which is still quite a lot.
