Hi,
While I was updating kernel in one of my RHEL 4 boxes, it prompted as
below and then upon restart, the machine failed to boot up halting at the GRUB prompt. I was able to restore GRUB by "linux rescue" . But still, the system is not able to boot with the new kernel. It says "kernel panic"
Installing...
1:kernel-xenU-devel ########################################### 100%
2:kernel ########################################### 100%
WARNING: No module BusLogic found for kernel 2.6.9-89.0.25.EL,
continuing anyway
3:kernel-devel ########################################### 100%
4:kernel-doc ########################################### 100%
5:kernel-hugemem ########################################### 100%
WARNING: No module BusLogic found for kernel 2.6.9-89.0.25.ELhugemem,
continuing anyway
6:kernel-hugemem-devel ########################################### 100%
7:kernel-smp ########################################### 100%
WARNING: No module BusLogic found for kernel 2.6.9-89.0.25.ELsmp,
continuing anyway
8:kernel-smp-devel ########################################### 100%
9:kernel-utils ########################################### 100%
10:kernel-xenU ########################################### 100%
Also, while I try to boot the new kernel, it says as below:
Unable to find volume group "disk"
no volume groups found
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
I tried reinstalling Vmware tools, but of no avail. Also, tried using Buslogic driver for ESX 2.5 (as I couldn't find Buslogic driver for ESX 3.5) and that doesn't work either.
Do you have any clue how to fix this issue ?
Thanks
