After perusing

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/LIRC

I thought I'd give ir-keytable a shot. I thought maybe enabling the
other protocols would make my other remotes come alive:

$ir-keytable
Found /sys/class/rc/rc0/ (/dev/input/event12) with:
         Driver mceusb, table rc-rc6-mce
Supported protocols: NEC RC-5 RC-6 JVC SONY LIRC
Enabled protocols: NEC RC-5 RC-6 JVC SONY LIRC
Name: Media Center Ed. eHome Infrared
         bus: 3, vendor/product: 0471:0815, version: 0x0000
Repeat delay = 500 ms, repeat period = 33 ms

But no, same results, only the Microsoft remote gives me any output in
irw. All my other configured remotes (Sony TV, Tivo, Scientific Atlanta
Cable Box) give no output.

Frustrating given that the MS remote *is* working and that mode2 shows
output with the other remotes when lirc is shut down.

Since I'm not using the ATrpms packages at the moment, this will be my
last post here. I'll return if I go back to Axel's packages.
