I am using 304.64 on a rhel6 with a Geforce 7600 just fine. Regarding the conflict, I solved it by creating a new package (nvidia-graphics310.19-cuda-proxy), but only for the 310.19, which cannot be used with your card. The new package does not need to be installed, in general, and therefore the conflict does not happen.
