lirc_serial Centos

I am running centos 6 with kernel 2.6.32-279. 

I have managed to get my nvidia, video4linux and part of lirc running. 

The problem I am having is I cannot get the lirc_serial running. 

I have installed lirc lirc-0.9.0 and try modprobe lirc_serial 

and it returns
sh: /usr/bin/setserial: No such file or directory

FATAL: Error running install command for lirc_serial

I am after any help 

My lirc.conf modprobe file contains 

install lirc_serial /usr/bin/setserial /dev/ttyS1 uart none &&
/sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install lirc_serial

options lirc_serial softcarrier=1 irq=3 io=0x2f8

remove lirc_serial /sbin/modprobe -r --first-time --ignore-remove
lirc_serial && /sbin/modprobe -r lirc_dev
