Hey so i just did a full install of redhat 7.3 from cds and now im
running grab to get the updates from LBL...im averaging about 170 KB/s
on the downloads....

it took just about 15 minutes or so to do the provides database.

I'm hoping to see the provides database in serious action when I add
something new over the base install.

Man this is pretty good. I really like the clientside dep
resolution..close to what i was picturing...there's got to be a way to
speed up the header polling. If i only knew how rpm was grabbing the
remote headers maybe there would be some obvious way to recode it in
straight perl....and then use the rpmlib perl module to queary the
cached headers....but that's icing on the cake for me.

Hey can you also use the header infomation to help download srpm's as
well. I'd really like to be able to use grab to get srpms in some
cases.

And the next big kicker...can you get grab to understand http
repositories as well as ftp?
