Zion,

If you haven't done so already, download the IBM Linux for S/390:
Distributions Redbook from
http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg246264.html
<http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/sg246264.html
> . Read the chapter on Installing Red Hat, and pay particular attention to
all the things you can specify in the parmfile.

Subject: [Redhat-s390-list] Installing RH 7.2 on Mp3000 - network problem

I'm trying to install RH 7.2 on the 3rd LPAR of MP3000 P30.

I defined the Ethernet network card as E24,E25 port 3.

Q1. What should I answer during the IPL process when I got this message:

Please enter the FQDN of your new virtual machine (e.g. s390.redhat.com):
mylinux.test.it
Please enter the network device you intend to use (e.g. ctc0, escon0,
iucv0, eth0, tr0):

I tried several options but failed.

I installed the IBM OCO modules.

Q2. What are the parameters for the correct network device (like:
ctc0,0x600,,,)?

I'll appreciate your help.

Zion
