U can try recompiling the kernel with new sound module source files. Mandrake 9 recognises 810 audio pretty well and so if u replace the i810_audio and ac97_audio files (both .c and .h) in the Redhat 8 kernel source (version 2.4.18, I think) with those in the Mandrake kernel source (2.4.19) and then recompiling...after doing this, my sound car works gr8
