Hi all,
ok, apparently, I don't know my Suns well enough yet... :-}
I've got an U10, on which I'd like to dual-boot Solaris and Linux (RHL
6.2 for a start, then moving to Aurora 0.2/0.3).
I've found Sun's document on the topic:
http://wwws.sun.com/software/linux/docs/dual_boot.html
however, they're assuming two partitions per OS only (/ & swap). I'd
much rather divide both systems further, at least '/', '/usr/local'
and '/home' plus swap. However, that would be nine partitions
(including the 'whole disk' one). I've only ever seen eight on these
machines. Does anybody out there know whether eight is indeed the
maximum number of partitions possible, or is there a way to have more
(and how)?
I've been searching Google for this, but haven't found the right
search terms, apparently... :-{
All insights/pointers/... appreciated...
Cheerio,
Thomas
