[root@ipc /root]# rpm -i openssh-2.5.2p2-2.6.x.sparc.rpm only packages with major numbers <= 3 are supported by this version of RPM error: openssh-2.5.2p2-2.6.x.sparc.rpm cannot be installed here's what I did install however: rpm-3.0.4-0.48.sparc.rpm db3-utils-3.1.17-4.6x.sparc.rpm tcl-8.0.3-20.sparc.rpm (needed popt-1.6.4-6x.sparc.rpm) popt-1.6.4-6x.sparc.rpm (needed by rpm-4.0.4-6x.sparc.rpm) rpm-4.0.4-6x.sparc.rpm So, the only items I couldn't install were the ssh items, which is what I was trying to install in the first place. should I try to force an install, using "rpm --force -i openssh-2.5.2p2-2.6.x.sparc.rpm" or would that be a bad thing to do...? awaiting sage replies with baited breath...
