Problem with networking onRHAS 4.0 Update1 64 bit on DL145 server

Hi All,
I have tried installing RHEL AS4.0 x86-64 bit  Update1 on a DL145 AMD
machine.
The installation went fine. I even installed all the drivers. But the
gateway is not pingable.
The local host and local ip is pinging. I checked almost all network
params and they are correct.
Please advise.
