This probably isn't solely an LVM problem, but 1TB block device limits 
are incredibly painful for us.

We have some 850GB devices we'd like to combine into logical volumes, 
but can't.

Any day now, we'll get getting some 1.5TB devices, which is going to be 
a real pain.

Any movement on supporting bigger block devices would be really appreciated.
