Its disabled...

# iptables -nL
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source

I don't think the firewall is issue here...since the login to the local 
account from remote machines are fine..
Only login to local account (from remote machine) who's home dir are soft 
linked to other home dir over /net dir's...

Even checked amd , its fine

# /etc/init.d/amd status
amd (pid 719) is running...
