Should CLE266 video use "via" rather than "vesa" XFree86 driver?

In the last day or two I've installed taroon beta 2 WS (and AS, although
I haven't used that much) on a test system. I found a quirk (not sure
whether it's a bug or a feature) in the configuration of XFree86 by
anaconda.

My test system has a Via C3M266 motherboard, which uses the CLE266
chipset. Anaconda configured the video controller for VESA. That was the
right thing to do for Red Hat 9, but taroon's XFree86 has the "via" driver
that actually supports this video controller, and that driver allows
higher refresh rates (which means far less eyestrain -- at least, in my
experience).

Is it too late in the beta cycle to change from the vesa to via driver
for this video controller? If not, I think this change should be made.
