Maybe it is trying to use the 1.3.1 java it has just installed to continue the install. I think you need to replace any 1.3 javas with a symbolic link to the corresponding bits of 1.4.2. I did this at the pause between discs 1 and 2 when I was playing with the 9iAS mid tier on severn, I don't know whether there is such a convenient point in the 9i install, because I haven't actually tried a 9i install yet. > I am using Oracle 9i R2.
