RE: Up2date failure ?

I should have added that I did issue the rpm --rebuilddb command and retried
my up2date command and got the same result.

I was running up2date trying to get down about two weeks of updates. At one
point in while it was installing some packages, my ssh session got
terminated. When I was able to get back in on the virtual machine console
(s390 platform), the ssh session and up2date had completely terminated. I
decided to reboot the system and clean out /var/spool/up2date to try for a
CLEAN process. Now, everytime I try any up2date command other than
--configure, I get this:

 up2date_client.up2dateErrors.RpmError: RPM error.  The message was: 
Could not determine what version of Red Hat Linux you are running. 
If you get this error, try running 

                rpm --rebuilddb
