In order to ask my question I feel first I must quote from your reference email... The following packages need to be removed from you installation prior to using up2date: ant-devel bcel-devel commons-beanutils-devel commons-collections-devel commons-digester-devel commons-fileupload-devel commons-logging-devel commons-modeler-devel compat-gcc-g77 jakarta-regexp-devel mx4j-devel servletapi-devel tomcat-devel xalan-j-devel xerces-j-devel Are these being permenantly removed? Will they no longer be part of the final distribution and therefore not part of up2date? It seems as though you guys keep removing more and more of the -devel rpms. While this is fine if you are using the RHEL products for desktops that are being used for word processing or reading email, it seems as though you are forgetting that a lot of end users are DEVELOPERS too. WE NEED -DEVEL PACAKGES, STOP REMOVING THEM!!!! Okay I will stop screaming now. --Ed -- ***************************************************************** Ed Griffin Assistant Network/System Administrator MIT Lincoln Laboratory Weather Sensing Group (781) 981-2871 mailto:[email protected] ***************************************************************** -- Taroon-beta-list mailing list [email protected] http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/taroon-beta-list
