After going through the archives, I'm a little puzzled if someone found a work-around for the GLIBC incompatibility problems when installing Oracle onto Taroon. I've already been through using Suns JDK 1.3 and 1.4, but allthough I get the installer running, it fails with a GLIBC error once the installer tries to install the common JRE 1.1.8 and just hangs there (glibc error reported in the log files). I'll try with the errno hack someone mentioned, but since mid August, has anyone come up with a more robust solution? Ohh btw. there might be something screwy with the LVM setup on the Beta version. I've had to manually fsck after a full normal shutdown (running LVM on top of md0 - soft raid). If it hicks up again, I'll dig a little deeper.
