Well, it's not really part of the kernel source, just something that can be
compiled as a kernel module.  I've copied Neale on this note.  Perhaps he
has some thoughts on your suggestion.

In the meantime, there are plenty of packages that Red Hat includes in their
platforms that are not part of the official kernel source tree.  I would
hate to see this one excluded for what ever reason.  It really is almost a
necessity on Linux/390 systems running on z/VM.

We currently don't have plans to include it. I'd encourage to include
this into official kernel sources on kernel.org to have it this way
also reviewed/checked for proper operation.

I anyway wonder why this hasn't been done until now already.
