I should note that there is a compat-glibc package in Taroon, so if you link against -L/usr/lib/i386-redhat-linux7/lib (and the files which are compiled from source compile against -I/usr/lib/i386-redhat-linux7/include headers as well), you shouldn't have more link time problems than on RH AS2.1.
