As Neale says, consider CP as your BIOS. I am trying to think how far
we can take the analogy. Linux also talks to the PC BIOS to do things
like APM etc. Is the driver for that also part of the kernel sources
and provide a standard interface to userspace programs in additional
packages? Could we think of such a function analogous to cpint ?
