I did say that if you wanted the right to the new version, contact Red Hat. I'm guessing that they'll give you the right to RHEL 3 for a WS or ES Basic subscription. And just because the Basic subscriptions may not have the features you want, that does not make all RHEL bad. Say you bought your RHEL ES Basic subcription last year and want to upgrade to RHEL 3 next year. When your subscription comes up for renewal, cancel it. Buy another one. Viola, you've got a legal RHEL 3 subscription at the same price you were paying. That's why I think that Red Hat will be changing either the agreement or the pricing soon - right now, it just doesn't make sense (and they know that). Also note that the current restriction applies only to basic subscriptions.
