Legato has told us that they will support RHEL 3 within 90 days of its
release.

We're not completely happy with that answer, because if they take
close to the full 90 days to certify, then there won't be enough time
to smoothly upgrade from RHL 7.x or 8.0 before 2004-01-01.  As a
result, we're upgrading our backup server from RHL 7.3 to RHEL 2.1
now.

Of course, this probably means that Legato will certify in 5 days or
something, and make us look silly for being paranoid.  :/
