To remove a package from a specific arch, I run rpm -e
<package_name-version-release.arch> (e.g. rpm -e glibc-2.3.2-74.i386).

If you try a way to remove all packages from a specific arch (say i386
on a AMD64 or ia64 workstation) in one instruction, I'm interested ;-)
