I managed to borrow a second Radeon 7500 and it worked fine. This hw combo did work well with redhat 7.3 which was confusing; in hindsight, I must have damaged the card when I installed the big new hard drive to put redhat 9 on. I remember I had to remove it to get the new disks in there. So I guess we can close this one off. Thanks to everyone who helped. PS I note from their web pages that ATI is still selling the radeon 7500 ... Is there any Linux-related advantage to getting one of the newer cards? I don't play games. -- Mike _______________________________________________ xfree86-list mailing list [email protected] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/xfree86-list IRC: #xfree86 on irc.redhat.com
