xserver shutdown after logging out

Hi

I am using 
software: 
	RedHat 8.0 (smp) with XFree-4.2.0-72 version
hardware: 
	AMD Athlon, ASUS V9180 GeForce4 MX440 AXAGP, Flat Panel  
           Monitor 
Problem:
	 Everything works fine up until logout, when I logout the monitor
losses it's signal and automatically power-off the monitor ( I think the
x-server is shutting down.). The only way to bring the system up is by
rebooting the computer.

I have no idea what's going on.....Please help!
