At the moment, it's mostly for reading all kinds of repositories so that we 
can analyze them (for example, we've discovered some packages in the Debian 
repository that can't be installed *at all*, because of conflicts in the 
dependencies...). Whether our research will have a practical result remains 
to be seen :)

For the moment we intend to investigate the different existing package formats 
and try to come up with improvements. There already are enough formats out 
there, after all :)
