Hi David, Hi Hiren,

This has had to be put on hold.  Apparently there is an issue with
installing Fedora on a virtual server within a physical server running
on a different distro.  Anyway your intuitions were correct in that
the root cause was a problem with the Fedora installation itself.  I
very much appreciate your feedback and I owe each of you a tall cold
beer.
