On Centos 4, yum 2.4-3.3, even without debug it would report missing files - see arrow below.
Yum 3.0.5-1 on Centos 5, like your report, won't alert you to missing files, which may be simple mis-spelling, eg http instead of httpd.
I would love to get that behaviour back.

# yum install nope mc httpd httpd-suexec
