Using a RHEL repository with CentOS?

Would a RHEL-3/RHEL-4 repository work with CentOS Enterprise 3.9? I know
CentOS is based off of RHEL, but I wanted to make sure the repositories
were compatible (or not) before I ran into problems. Thank you.
