Sigh - not to open a flame war but would it be 
possible to please hold the zealotry to a minimum
if you'd be so kind ?

Many of us work for employers where we do not have
the ability to live in an open source nirvana,
regardless of how much we might potentially agree
on its desirability.

I would encourage you to not use closed source software in general,
though.  It is not good for the world.
